Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is available as a stand alone service, or may be recommended as part of a Naturopathic treatment plan.

Remedial Massage:
Remedial massage is can help to reduce stress levels, improve postural issues, relieve pain from injuries or general muscular tension, and promote a sense of well-being.  Treatments consist of a variety of techniques which may include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching, manual lymphatic drainage and kinesiology taping.  You may also be prescribed stretching or exercise for home to continue with your treatment plan in between appointments. In a typical remedial massage appointment I will take a client health history and notes regarding your injury or problem and may also perform musculoskeletal assessments pre and post treatment, depending on the nature of your complaint.  Because of this it is recommended that as a first time client that you book a 90 minute appointment where possible.

Swedish Massage:
Swedish massage is a style of massage designed to relax the body and the mind.  It uses a variety of massage techniques to increase blood flow and circulation, relax and lengthen the muscles and body tissues, reduce stress and pain, and create a sense of well-being.

A 90 minute session is recommended for a full body relaxation massage.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage:
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, non-invasive and light touch technique which is used to treat specific conditions and improve general health and wellbeing.  It can be beneficial in promoting healing for acute injuries by reducing swelling and pain.  It can also help to reduce congestion, stimulate the immune system, remove metabolic wastes, improve many chronic conditions and induce relaxation and peaceful sleep.  It is suitable for both naturopathic and remedial massage clients, as part of the Detox for Health program, or for clients who may have swelling from recent injuries.
